June 22, 2009, Frederick, MD - The 2009 Summer Concert Series, held at the Bandshell in Baker Park, will present singer/songwriter Shane Gamble on Sunday, June 28th. A returning hometown favorite, independent solo artist Shane Gamble blends his unique lyrics with musical arrangements that incorporate folk, rock, pop and country. This free live performance, part of the Summer Concert Series presented by Celebrate Frederick Inc., begins at 7:00 p.m.

The 26-year-old Maryland native has been playing professionally since his college days in 1999. He started out booking and playing shows in the Maryland area and gained a strong local fan base. Since then he has played more than 1400 shows nationwide in clubs, festivals and colleges. He has created his own record label, Rt. 50 Music, Inc. and has released two albums “Behind the Blue” (2007) and “Talk About” (2002). In summer 2009, he will be releasing an EP “One Balloon” which features Rami Jaffe on keyboards.

The artist is outfitted with a warm, throaty tenor voice reminiscent of Jakob Dylan and a high-ceiling falsetto that brings to mind Ben Harper. His early influences were artists such as the Cream, Jimi Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin, which left a permanent mark on his music. Shane has created a distinctive-sound centered on his thought- provoking lyrics, colorful guitar patterns, and haunting ‘70’s –esque pedal-steel, while striking a delicate balance between pop hooks , atmospheric ballads, and pocket grooves.

All Summer Concert Series performances are free to the public, but the Summer Concert Series Committee encourages you to bring a canned food item in lieu of admission. All items collected benefit the Frederick Food Bank.

The performance is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Baker Park Bandshell.
